We recently had the opportunity to try Skinetic, a haptic vest created by Actronica.
Thanks to voice-coil motors (VCM), this vest allows you to experience various sensations such as shots, rain, wind. The sensations are spatialized: if you lean forward, you will only feel the raindrops on your back. And if someone shoots you in VR on your left side, you will immediately know where the shot is coming from.
We will soon dive deeper into this product, but in the meantime, here are two major news about this product:
- First of all, a Kickstarter campaign has been launched: you can therefore get your own Skinetic vest by pleding around 500€ (“Super Early Bird” pledge).
- Moreover, the Skinetic team will attend Laval Virtual next week in France: if you also plan to attend, don’t forget to check out their booth (A1) and to try this product!
